During my time at Johnson & Wales University, I served as Chief of Design for the Campus Herald, leading the visual direction of the university’s newspaper. I designed the layout for each issue, contributed photography for both print and web, and managed the publication’s WordPress site. I also supervised a team of design and photography contributors, collaborated closely with the Editor-in-Chief, and occasionally wrote articles for publication. In Summer 2016, I attended a journalism conference focused on layout redesign and advanced InDesign techniques. I applied these learnings to reimagine the paper’s visual identity, introducing a more modern and dynamic design system. The redesigned publication debuted at the start of the fall semester and was widely well-received across the university community.
